About the event
August Wilson's play, Fences, won the 1987 Pulitzer Prize for Drama and the 1987 Tony Award for Best Play. It explores the evolving African-American experience and examines race relations, among other themes. This production is a portrayal of family life—of how its characters view their roles as individual family members, and how they each define their commitment or duty to the family; it also explores how betrayal can break the familial bond. This is a production that's sure to leave you in awe. We look forward to seeing you there!
